The underclassmen are ready to lead the way at Arthur Hill.
You may not recognize all the young faces on the Lumberjack roster this season…but get use to them because they are ready to make an impact this year and for the next handful of years to come.
The Jacks opened their 2019-2020 season with a 74-56 win at Ecorse last night. Leading the way were a pair of sophomores in Chris Smith and Elvis Machul.
Smith dominated inside the paint for 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Machul played his all-around game to go with 15 points.
Smith is as physically tough a player that you will find in Michigan. He can bang down low or step outside and be just as productive. Last night was his first high school game, after sitting last year due to the MHSAA transfer rule.
Machul is a 6-0 combo guard that is one of the state’s top shooters regardless of class. He has range from anyone on the floor.
But Smith and Machul aren’t the only underclassmen at Arthur Hill. Fellow sophomore Ced Murrell is a 6-4 long athlete who specializes in jumping passing lanes and can run the floor and finish.
Also joining the new era of Jacks is 6-6 freshman Timmy Jordan. Jordan is a skilled forward who is a crafty scorer, who went for 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assist in his debut.
As this group continues to develop and grow together the sky is the limit!
