Latrell Fordham’s big play ability has helped pave the way for Davsion as they walk into Friday’s Div. 1 regional final vs Utica Eisenhower at Ortonville-Brandon HS.
The 6-3 speedy wideout is enjoying his 1st year as a Cardinal and it is everything he has hoped for. “Since I got here all we have talked about is making a run in the playoffs. Dreaming of winning a State Title my last year. Doing it for the school, coaches, and community” states Fordham.
The Davison senior committed over the summer to play at Ball St next season. Despite committing to a D1 school before the season, Fordham’s play somehow flew under the radar.
However, after hauling in 39 catches and registering 801 yards to go with 12 touchdowns this season, Fordham has looked very impressive. Especially with how balanced the Cardinal offense is behind QB Brendan Sullivan.
Fordham is every bit of 6-3 and has speed to take the top off of defenses. He is everything you want out of receiver. He has great hands and knows how to attack the ball at its high point. He runs great routes and can quickly get in and out of his cuts.
With the production and talent that Fordham had showcased, universities are taking notice.
Up to date Fordham has received offers from CMU, Grand Valley, Morgan St, and Ferris St., he has also picked up major interest from Michigan, Michigan St, and Virginia, among others.
Even with bigger offers coming in, Fordham loves what Ball St has to offer. “It just feels like home, everyone down there in Muncie is so supportive. It’s a true brotherhood,” adds Fordham.
But before Fordham puts his focus into college, he is zoned in on Eisenhower. “It’s going to be a fast and physical game. They are a great team. We have to execute on all cylinders,” said Fordham.
